Using Caption Lanes

Caption Lanes provides assistive live captions and coarse directional hints. Obtain the agreement of everyone in the conversation before enabling the microphone. Follow local recording and consent laws even though this app does not retain raw audio.

Important limitations

Captions and direction estimates can be wrong, delayed, or unavailable because of noise, accents, language-pack support, browser behavior, and microphone layout. Caption Lanes does not identify speakers and must not be used for emergencies, legal records, medical decisions, surveillance, or forensic attribution.

Free and Plus

The free version includes three directional lanes, on-device caption controls, typed backup input, and transcript export. Caption Lanes Plus is a $24 one-time license that unlocks a fourth lane and compatible accessory inputs when supported. A purchase is tied to its license token and may be restored on another device.

Payments and refunds

Sociobot/Dodo is the merchant of record and hosts checkout. Refunds are handled there; a refunded, expired, or revoked purchase causes the license to stop unlocking paid features. No subscription is created.

Availability and warranty

The software is provided “as is” without warranties. Features may change to improve privacy, accessibility, or device compatibility. To the extent permitted by law, Sociobot is not liable for indirect losses arising from use or inability to use the app.
